Wedding Videography Services FAQs

What is wedding videography?

Wedding videography is the art of capturing a couple’s wedding day on video. Anyone can set up a tripod, record the ceremony from one angle and call it a day, but only a professional wedding videographer understands how to find the right angles and moments to create a truly cinematic wedding film that can be cherished forever.

A wedding videographer will capture the footage on the day and then take the time to edit it down into a wedding film. There are many different styles of wedding videography, with some preferring a documentary-style, whilst others take a truly cinematic approach to their work.

Why is wedding videography important?

Wedding videography is as important, if not more so than your photography. Whilst photos are irreplaceable and can so perfectly capture the feeling of a moment, only a video can truly transport you back to that time.

Wedding videography could even be considered the most important investment of your wedding day. Whilst the food, drinks and entertainment can only be enjoyed once, your wedding film can be returned to over and over again, allowing you to relive the day all over again.

What is a high-end wedding videographer?

Whilst you may be tempted to hire a budget wedding videographer who can ‘get the job done’ and deliver unedited footage of your wedding, you’ll be missing out on the extra touches that could make your wedding film a treasured memento that is passed down your family for generations. High-end wedding videographers create truly cinematic wedding films that amplify the best parts of your wedding day and keep your cherished memories intact forever.

What is drone videography?

Only with the use of a drone can your wedding videographer capture the sweeping establishing shots and overhead aerial views of your wedding. This technology has changed wedding videography forever, giving drone wedding videographers the ability to shoot dramatic wedding films that are truly cinematic in their scope. Drone pilots require a license with the Civil Aviation Authority, so it’s important to only hire experienced, licensed videographers for the job.

What questions should I ask my wedding videographer?

Hiring a wedding videographer can be as easy as confirming a date and paying a deposit, but in order to get the very most from your investment, you may want to ask a few important questions first. Enquire about the videographer’s experience and make sure that they’ve got reviews to back up their claims. Find out what style of videography they’re best suited to and ensure they share your vision for your wedding film. Research what questions you should ask your wedding videographer before making a decision.

Is videography necessary for a wedding?

Videography is a necessary and essential part of any modern wedding. Whilst a photo album can provide snapshots of your special day, only a wedding film can take you back to those special moments and allow you to truly relive them.

Is a videographer worth it for a wedding?

With so many other costs and expenses that mount up for a wedding, you’d be forgiven for wondering if hiring a wedding videographer is worth it in the long run. However, having a wedding film to keep is the best investment you could make in your wedding day. Considering the amount of money you’ll spend on hiring vehicles, buying a wedding dress, suit and hiring a venue; hiring a wedding videographer means you can enjoy the day all over again for years to come.

Why is wedding videography so expensive?

The cost of wedding videography varies from company to company, with some choosing to charge extra for services that others would include as part of their basic package. Some videographers base their quotes on a number of variables and may take into account the distance they need to travel and the date of your wedding before offering a quote.

Silver Service offer two packages at competitive price points, regardless of the day or date. We are always sure to give you complete transparency in terms of what we offer, so you know exactly what you’re getting with us.

How many videographers are needed for a wedding?

Depending on the size of your wedding party, you may need more than one wedding videographer to ensure that every angle is covered on your big day. Although the cost of your wedding film will increase if you choose to hire an additional videographer, the finished product will be more cinematic and you may also be able to take advantage of cinematic drone footage.

Do you regret not having a wedding video?

As many as 98% of brides have surveyed as saying that they regret not having a wedding video. There’s no way of knowing if you’ll be one of the 2% that don’t regret not hiring a wedding videographer until it’s too late. Whilst some may not want to prioritise videography in their budget, it’s clear that so many have regretted not doing so.

Where can you hire wedding videographers?

Wedding videographers can be hired across the UK, many are happy to travel large distances to film weddings. Our wedding videographers are no different. We can travel throughout the UK, including Lancashire, Cheshire, and Manchester.

High End Wedding Videographer

A high-end wedding videography company will offer a service above and beyond what is expected, delivering a wedding film that doesn’t compromise on style and quality. There are some key differences between budget wedding videographers and luxury wedding videographers who, naturally, charge more for their services.

We’re proud to have captured so so many special days and come highly recommended by bride and grooms from across the UK. Take a look at our highlight reels below and get in touch today if you’re interested in hiring a luxury wedding videographer who can do your wedding day justice.

Multiple videographers to capture angles

Setting aside more of your wedding budget for videography means that you’ll likely be able to afford multiple camera operators to cover your wedding day.

At larger weddings, where upwards of 100 people are invited, it can be difficult to get complete coverage with just one camera.

Luxury wedding videography packages usually include two or more camera operators, who are capable of capturing the entire day from every possible angle and show particularly close attention to detail in their work.

Personalised finished product

The final edit of your film may be largely uncut and ad hoc if you choose a budget videographer, whereas a high-end wedding film is likely to have been carefully edited and curated to have a more emotional impact.

How you receive your final wedding film will also vary depending on the videography company that you choose. A budget videographer may choose to simply supply you with a limited-time link via email that you can use to download your video and then do with as you wish.

A more luxury wedding film may be delivered in a personalised format, such as a set of DVDs or an engraved USB stick.

High end wedding videographer FAQ's

Is a high-end wedding videographer worth it?

Investing in a high-end wedding videographer will be worth it to those wanting to keep returning to those memories time and time again. The average wedding in the UK in 2019 was over £16,000, but this figure doesn’t include the hundreds of luxury weddings that likely cost much more than this. When thousands of pounds are being invested in venues, a wedding photographer, food and entertainers it makes sense to set aside some of the budget for a high-end videographer who is able to capture the day’s events in suitable style, so that the entire wedding’s scale and expense can be truly reflected in the wedding film.

Will I regret not paying for a luxury wedding videographer?

In some cases, you may find yourself regretting not setting money aside for a luxury wedding videographer as the cheaper alternatives can sometimes fall short in capturing the entire day in its best light. Do it yourself, or camera hire packages can offer great value to those on a tight budget, but then you must rely on your guests to film the wedding, which they might not be able to do to your standards. In other cases, settling for a budget videographer could mean that only a section of the day is filmed and not edited to the cinematic wedding video standard of high-end videographers.
